The summer of 2014 saw Puglia and its wines take center stage in a gastronomic journey that delighted the international press. Many awards and recognitions were earned by Varvaglione Vigne e Vini, and among the most notable mentions, the Taranto-based winery is honored to appear among the most appreciated quality wines by American freelance journalist Deborah Grossman, a special guest of the Press Tour “Vini di Puglia IV” organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia as part of the OCM 2013-2014 promotional program.
Specializing in travel and gastronomy, Deborah Grossman boasts significant collaborations with

publications such as Wine Enthusiast, Drink Me, The Culinary National Review, San Francisco Chronicle and Napa Valley Life.
Her article is a true travel diary, illustrating the discovery of wines that delighted the journalist’s palate. Among the standout wines mentioned with honor in the article is the “12 e mezzo – Rosato del Salento IGP.” Made from Negroamaro grapes of the Salento region, it is one of the new products from Varvaglione Vigne e Vini, launched just last summer.
The Salento winery is therefore proud to witness the great success this wine has achieved in a short time, attaining the significant reputation that all of Varvaglione Vigne e Vini’s production now enjoys both nationally and internationally.
